Adolf Sadek, general manager of Viktoria Plzen, spoke to TeleRadioStereo today as the Giallorossi will face the Czech side in their Champions League group. These are his words:
What is your goal in the Champions League, taking into account the difficulty of the group?
It’s a very tough group. Real, probably, is the best club in the world right now, as they’ve won the last three Champions League. Roma are a strong team with great ambitions and even CSKA Moscow is a difficult opponent. We would like to qualify for the next phase of a European competition, it would be nice to play in the Europa League in the Spring, so this is our goal.
You will face Roma again after two years.
As I said before, Roma is a strong team with great ambitions. The Giallorossi have stabilised well and have played in the Champions League for many years. Roma is an experienced team that has many excellent young players. We know it will be two very tough matches.
What do you think of compatriot Patrik Schick?
Patrik is a talented young lad with great potential. I know several Italian managers and I know him well — I think he’ll be excellent.
Have you asked Pavel Nedved for advice on how to beat Roma?
I exchanged a few messages on the day of the Champions League draw with Pavel, but I did not ask him for suggestions on how to defeat Roma: this will be the task of our technical staff.
