Roma midfielder Gonzalo Villar took to his official Twitter account to deny that he’s in talks with Sassuolo for a potential loan switch.
Just minutes prior to his denial, the agent of the Spaniard was rumored to be in negotiations with the Neroverdi.
However, Villar was quick to quash the news this evening, “Stop it with these things, there’s only Roma!” he wrote.
His tweet comes after weeks of speculation surrounding his future in the Italian capital, with additional concerns in regards to his fit in Jose Mourinho’s system.
The former Elche man sacked his longtime agent earlier this summer and moved to the agency of Alejandro Camano, who represents the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Achraf Hakimi.
Several clubs both in Italy and Spain registered their interest in Villar—but to date he has rejected all approaches.
