Gonzalo Villar is, among others, rumored to be excluded from today’s game against Napoli. Reports put him, Kumbulla, Mayoral, Diawara and Calaifiori in the stands for tonight’s big match following their poor performances vs Bodo in the Conference League.
The Spanish midfielder expressed his frustration on Instagram, where he wrote the following paragraph:
“I have respected and worked hard for this shirt in every training session and match since the first day here.”
“Last year I experienced incredible moments that I now do not forget despite the many insults I received recently for playing the first half of a match very badly after a long time without playing.”
“I had a great desire to play the other day and I saw it as my opportunity to show that I can be useful, but sometimes one cannot and I simply have not succeeded.”
“Until the day when it’s time for me to leave this city, I will continue to work hard to try and find more opportunities and to demonstrate what kind of player I am, to be useful to the team, to help achieve goals by supporting the team from the stands, from the bench or by playing.”
He concluded with:
“Let’s all get up together and go and win today. Always Forza Roma.”
