Villar, Mayoral, Diawara, Reynolds, and Kumbulla in stands for Napoli clash

Roma attacker Borja Mayoral

Roma boss José Mourinho seems to have sent a clear signal at which players he was referring to after he criticised some of his team after Thursday’s Conference League disaster.

Following the Giallorossi’s 6-1 defeat to Bodø/Glimt, Mourinho criticised the Giallorossi’s lack of quality off the bench, claiming the Norwegians possessed more quality on the pitch that evening.

As a result, the former Tottenham boss has sent several second choice options to the stand for this evening’s clash between his team and Napoli.

Attacker Borja Mayoral, midfielders Gonzalo Villar and Amadou Diawara, plus defensive duo Bryan Reynolds and Marash Kumbulla will not be on the bench this evening against the Partenopei.

The quintuplet are usually among the first options off the bench for Mourinho, making the decision all the more curious and risky.
