Former Roma fullback Vincent Candela was asked to share his thoughts on the World Cup in Qatar and his favorite players that are taking part in the international tournament.
The French defender also addressed the recent rumours linking Roma with Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric.
“Morocco to me are the biggest surprise of the World Cup so far,” Candela told Il Messaggero. “For the way they interpret the game, for how they defend as a group: they are very solid team, very compact. Usually teams from Africa are much more free flowing and less compact.”
“And I will also mention Croatia who have one of the strongest midfields in the world. I also think Modric would be a good fit for Roma.”
