Former Roma attacker Vincenzo Montella was recently asked about Paulo Dybala taking over Mourinho’s team and leading by example in the Giallorossi’s run of opening games this season.
“I do recognize myself a bit in him,” said Montella. “I see myself in his movements on the pitch and the way he attacks the goal, although the plays further up the pitch.”
“I expected him to do well at Roma, mainly because I could see him be very motivated for this chance to come along and he’s a phenomenal player.”
“Overall, I think Roma changed with Mourinho even before having won the Conference League,” he added.
“This season there is an enthusiasm very similar to the one I experienced when we won the Scudetto in 2001.”
“You just feel there is something magical in the air, and when that happens in Rome – sky is the limit.”
