Vitesse manager Thomas Letsch reacted calmly after his team learned they drew Roma in the Conference League round of 16 earlier today.

The Dutch side host the Giallorossi for the first of two legs on March 10th at the GelreDome.

Letsch expressed that even though his side earned “the hardest” possible draw, he also called it the most “beautiful”.

“It is the toughest imaginable, but also the most beautiful draw”, said Letsch to his club’s official website.

“Of course everyone at Vitesse thinks this is a wonderful pairing—this is why we have European competitions. A lot of people were skeptical about Conference League before the season, but look at who we faced: they’re all big clubs.”

He continued, “Tottenham were the biggest club in the competition in terms of market value and now it’s Roma. They’re perhaps the favorites to win the entire competition.”

“However, we’ve always believe in ourselves and now we’ll need even more belief. Mourinho is one of the best managers so it’s nice to face him.”

“I hope we can face Roma with a full stadium. Supporters, purchase your ticket and come to the stadium. On to a new magical European evening.”
