Vitesse manager Thomas Letsch hopes his side can replicate their performance during Thursday’s loss to Roma when they return to league action on Sunday.
The German technician insisted he was pleased with his team’s display on Thursday evening in the Conference League despite their 1-0 defeat to the Giallorossi.
“What I saw on the pitch against an absolutely top team and against the favorite of the of the competition now that Tottenham is out, we showed we can play at this level,” Letsch told Vitesse TV.
“We controlled the game especially in the first, but also in the second half without creating so many chances. But on this level it’s about small details.”
He continued, “They (Roma) had one and a half chances and scored one goal and we had real good chances starting with Loïs (Openda).”
“We have to be clearer and do better in these situations and score goals. Normally for us you have to go up at least 1-0 into halftime: then it’s a different game for us.”
