Despite being backed to leave the club this summer, striker Dušan Vlahović reiterated that he’s solely focused on doing well with Fiorentina.
The 21 year-old Serbian has attracted interest from nearly every single big club in Serie A, including Roma, thanks to his breakout season, scoring twenty one goals in 36 appearances.
Speaking to Meridian Sport, Vlahović expressed regret that the season is coming to its conclusion as he marks his most successful campaign as a professional.
“I’ll be honest, I’m disappointed that the season is over now,” he said. “I don’t think anyone expected this from me.”
“I’m just sorry that we fought to avoid relegation for so long and that my goals didn’t allow us to finish in a higher position.”
The youngster was then asked about what his future potentially holds – including the prospect of playing someday for compatriot and current Bologna manager Siniša Mihajlović.
“Of course it would be difficult to say no to Miha, but I’m only focused on Fiorentina right now. Going abroad? Never say never, you never know what could happen in the future. Maybe it happens, or maybe I spend my entire career in Serie A.”
