Volpato drawing interest from Sassuolo, several Serie B clubs

After making his first team debut last season under Jose Mourinho, Roma youngster Cristian Volpato is drawing a lot of interest on the transfer market.

Corriere dello Sport reports several clubs from both Serie A and Serie B are keen on acquiring the 18 year-old this summer, including Sassuolo, Ascoli, Bari, and Ternana.

The attacking midfielder, currently on duty with Italy’s youth squad for the under-19 European championship, will initially begin with the Giallorossi’s first team when they commence their preseason in Portugal.

Along with Volpato’s representatives, the club will make a decision once Mourinho decides whether or not he will utilise him next season.

The Australia-born midfielder made his first team debut for Roma in December against Inter before scoring his first goal in February versus Verona.
