Vucinic: “Roma can overcome the deficit against Shakhtar.”

Former Roma and Juve attacker Mirko Vucinic appeared in the latest edition of AS Roma Match Program. These are his words:

“Shakhtar-Roma? I saw a spectacular and fun Giallorossi side in the first half. Then there was an inexplicable decline in the second. There’s still a return leg and Roma can overcome the deficit, we all expect Roma to do so. I still remain tied to Roma, it couldn’t be otherwise. I spent five beautiful years at the club and scored many goals and contributed to some beautiful victories. It’s too bad about the 2010 season when Inter won the Scudetto, we were so close to the finish line.”

The ex-attacker was also asked about Juve, “I’m also tied to Juve as I won trophies there. I’m tied to Roma and Juve for different reasons so I don’t want to play favourties. Roma is unique, it’s a place that gives you a lot, but there really isn’t a middle ground there. Aside from Totti, every player has always been challenged or talked about at Roma. It always happens, it was the same for me. Dzeko? Edin is a very important player. I like him a lot. Schick? He has important technical qualities. He needs time, but I think he will become an important player for Roma. Roma-Milan? Di Francesco’s side will be angry and will want to get a result — they can do so with the help of the fans.”
