Former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini was recently interviewed by DAZN on several topics including Nicolo Zaniolo’s evolution since joining the capital club in 2018.
Sabatini said of Zaniolo, “He’s an incredible player, and belongs to the category of players that can make a difference.”
“He loves physical play, he seeks contact, perhaps too much sometimes.”
“When he will have learned to play more without the ball and relax a little bit, he will be an unstoppable force.”
“His tendency to go look for the opponent in front of time can be limiting at times,” Sabatini concluded.
During the same interview, the ex-Roma director also mentioned Daniele De Rossi and his desire to coach. “The first team that calls me up… without a doubt I’m taking De Rossi as manager with me.”
