Former Roma executive, Walter Sabatini, praised the club’s appointment of Tiago Pinto, the Giallorossi’s new General Director.

The capital club appointed the 36 year-old in late November to oversee all football-related matters after he spent the previous eight years with Portuguese giants Benfica.

“Pinto will be working in a very complicated environment, but he’s a young and talented executive,” said the 65 year-old, who is currently the Global Sporting Director at Bologna, to Sky Sport.

”He has important experience from his time at Benfica and has all of the credentials to do well.”

Sabatini spent five seasons at Roma and was widely praised for the abundance of talented players that he was able to acquire during his time in the Italian capital.

Despite his success, he departed the club in 2016 after falling out with former President James Pallotta.
