Former Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini was asked to comment on the Giallorossi’s start to the season as capital club prepare to face Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus in their third matchday of the new Serie A campaign.
“Roma have certainly been far from spectacular, ” told Radio 24. “But, they know what they want.”
“In a way, the team resembles Mourinho and deliver what he asks of them,” Sabatini added.
“It’s a shame to lose Wijnaldum to injury because he could have played an important role in this new campaign.”
“I think it’s only right that Roma want to compete for the Champions League qualification, because that means they also have to fight for the title. That has been the case in Serie A over recent years: the teams that fight for top four end up competing for the Scudetto.”
