Gian Piero Gasperini can breathe a sigh of relief after Wesley’s forced exit from the match against Napoli.

Medical tests performed the following day ruled out any injuries or fractures to his ankle, confirming that it was merely a painful bruise requiring treatment, as reported by Corriere dello Sport.

The Brazilian full-back’s condition is not particularly concerning, and barring a possible recurrence of the pain, his availability for Sunday evening’s match against Cremonese is not in doubt.

Ahead of Roma’s next league match against Juventus, Wesley’s management is crucial.

The former Flamengo player is currently on a booking, and a yellow card against Cremonese would mean he misses the match against the Bianconeri.

For this reason, Gasperini may consider starting Kostas Tsimikas, who came on as a second-half substitute against Napoli.

Completing the good news is Koné’s recovery from a muscle injury, which puts him on track for the next league matchday.
