Roma midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is expected to return from his fractured tibia injury sometime within the next 4-6 weeks.

The Dutchman suffered the blow during the final portion of a late August training session which sidelined him for nearly five months.

According to Corriere della Sera, Wijnaldum is making steady progress in his recovery and is trying to shorten the timeline ahead of Roma’s upcoming trip to Portugal where Mourinho’s men will spend a week of training.

The newspaper reports that Wijnaldum – who is currently undergoing individual training drills in the Netherlands – wants to be at Mourinho’s disposal for the trip to Algarve in order to participate in group training before the start of the second half of the season.
