Roma are waiting for Gini Wijnaldum to get back to his idea physical condition following his recent return to the field.
The Dutchman is still far from being able to meaningfully contribute to Jose Mourinho’s team. However, Wijnaldum and his entourage want to convince Roma to invest in him long-term, with the possibility of extending his loan if necessary.
In order to do that, La Repubblica reports that Wijnaldum would have to pen a renewal with PSG until 2025 as his current contract expires in 2024, forbidding him from being involved in any future loan moves.
On the other hand, if Roma were to activate the option in his loan and sign Wijnaldum on a long-term deal, the midfielder would have to take a considerable paycut as he currently earns over €7 million.
