Roma midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum was finally able to take part in his first group training session yesterday since suffering a tibia fracture in late August.
The ex-Liverpool man was reintegrated with the rest of the team after undergoing several individual training drills over the past two weeks.
According to La Repubblica, Wijnaldum was moved to tears by his teammates’ welcome. Roma players gathered around him in training and gave him a standing ovation, with Jose Mourinho personally embracing him.
The hope is to have Wijnaldum fully available after the New Year.
