Gini Wijnaldum is making steady progress in his recovery from a painful tibia fracture suffered in late August. After a few months of rehabilitation, the Dutchman will soon resume training with the ball individually.
As reports Corriere dello Sport, Roma insist on Wijnaldum not accelerating the recovery time in order to avoid any further risks.
The ex-Liverpool man is now training in the gym and the swimming pool to build up the muscle strength he lost since having his leg put in a cast.
The idea is to reintegrate him with the rest of the team near the end of the international break. Then, in January, Wijnaldum will have the chance to get his first minutes of playing time in-between a busy schedule of difficult games including Milan, Fiorentina and Napoli.
The Italian newspaper reports that Wijnaldum should be at Mourinho’s complete disposal and a regular part of the Special One’s rotations in February.
