Wolfsberger boss Struber: “We respect Roma, but we aren’t afraid”.

Wolfsberger boss Gerhard Struber held his pre-match press conference today ahead of his side’s Europa League showdown tomorrow in Austria against Roma. These are his words:

What do you expect for tomorrow’s match?
Tomorrow I would like to see us play as we did against Moenchengladbach. I know it’s a particular sort of match, their players are very good as is their new manager. But our confidence is high right now.

What do you fear most about Roma?
I fear nothing. I can’t wait to play tomorrow. It will be a challenge, but we are confident. We have great respect for Roma.

Was there a change in the team’s mindset after the victory against Moenchengladbach?
We want to play like we did against them. It will be important to have a plan in place. Their players are strong, but with Gladbach we showed we can win, which is why our self-esteem is high right now.

What is the difference between the league and playing a competition like this one?
There is a difference. Edin Dzeko is one we respect a lot, it’s not often you get to play a side like Roma.

Have you studied Roma?
I hope there are many spectators and that there is positive energy all over Austria. I saw Roma live for the last time in 2018 against Milan. I thought they did well, I saw their style of play and I am prepared.

With what sensations do Roma players have to play tomorrow?
In the past, some Austrians have left their mark in Rome, including Konsel. We would like to ensure that they cannot develop their style of play easily.
