Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso was interviewed by Sky Sport prior to tonight’s match with Roma in the Europa League semi’s.

The Spanish technician addressed his team’s remaining objective for the season after becoming this year’s Bundesliga champions.

“How has this season changed me? As a person I hope not much, as a coach a lot, together with the club. The dimension has changed a lot now compared to last year, when we faced Roma in the semi-final of the Europa League.”

“It’s definitely no coincidence that lately we’ve scored so many goals after the 90th minute. But you can’t win the Bundesliga, the German Cup final and the Europa League semi-final with these situations alone. We are very focused, the goal is to win the Europa League.”

“De Rossi? I see myself a lot in his story, he also started recently like me. I eagerly follow what he is doing. He was a great player and I’m happy that many of my generation are now achieving these results even on the bench.”
