Zalewski drawing interest in Serie A, Mourinho wants to keep him

Andy Mattioli

The 19-year-old midfielder put himself on display in yesterday’s friendly against Triestina, scoring the winning goal.

The youngster also debuted under Paulo Fonseca in the Europa League semifinal against Manchester United scoring his first goal in the return leg at the Olimpico. Now, several Serie A clubs have taken notice and want to pursue the Polish international.

According to Calciomercato.com, the Primavera player has received offers from newly promoted Venezia and Sampdoria. General Manager Tiago Pinto is reportedly studying these offers as he wants to give the youngster consistent playing time that is key in a player’s development.

The only obstacle may be José Mourinho, who may want to give Zalewski a chance in the first team, especially given Roma’s Conference League campaign in the upcoming season that will require heavy roster rotations.
