What an evening for Roma and youngster Nicola Zalewski who got his first Serie A start in tonight’s last minute win against Spezia.
Zalewski made a surprise appearance in the starting eleven replacing the likes of El Shaarawy and Shomurodov on the wing.
The Polish international was interviewed by DAZN following the final whistle and asked to speak about the thoughts racing in his head.
“There was never a moment where the coach said to me specifically that I’ll start. We tried various formations throughout the week, and finally today the coach confirmed his choice and let me start.”
“I’m very happy,” said the Polish international. “We played a good match. The important thing was to grab the three points.”
“I kept the shirt because the national team manager was in the stands, so I’ll give it to him.”
“I’ll always remember the three points won at the death with a deserved goal. We steered the game in the right direction.”
