Former Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo completed a highly-anticipated move to the Premier League.
Less than six months into his time with Galatasaray, the Italian winger signed with Aston Villa, reuniting with ex-Roma director Ramon Monchi.
In his first interview for the English club, Zaniolo called the opportunity of playing in the Premier League a childhood dream despite having rejected a permanent move to Bournemouth in the January window following a falling out with the Giallorossi.
“I’m very happy to be here. When Monchi called me I couldn’t wait to come here and play for this fantastic club.”
“In the last 24 hours I left from Istanbul and arrived here, visited the facilities and went to the hotel to stay with family and friends. Today I met my teammates and the staff.”
“I chose Aston Villa because they are one of the best clubs in the Premier League and in England. I want to play and show my qualities.”
“The Premier League is the most important league in the world, it was my childhood dream to play here. I’m here now, can’t wait to play,” said Zaniolo.
Roma hold a 20% sell-on clause on Zaniolo which will be triggered once Aston Villa decide to activate the buy option in his contract.
