Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo proved to be last night’s hero, drawing two precious fouls that resulted in two penalty kicks for Roma, and scoring a wondergoal to seal the Giallorossi’s victory over Ludogorets.
After the game, the 23-year-old concluded his round of media appearances with an interview with the capital club.
“I can’t deny that it was touch and go whether I’d make it for this one,” said the young Roma forward. “Because I took quite a blow against Verona.”
“But it was such an important game so when the boss asked me how I felt I told him I was willing as always. Roma comes first.”
“The first half was tough,” he added. “They were sitting back deep. So at halftime we focused on what we needed to do. We had to win, so we went back out and turned it around.”
