Former Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo spoke about his relationship with Jose Mourinho.
After departing the capital club in February, Zaniolo reflected on his time working with the Special One in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I haven’t talked to him since I moved to Turkey in February,” said Zaniolo who is currently a member of Galatasaray. “But I know that Mourinho still loves me, he always asks Sergio Olivera, my teammate at Galatasaray, about me. I will always be grateful to Mou.”
“Last year, before the match against Empoli, I was a bit down in the dumps because I hadn’t scored in five or six games. Mourinho took me aside and said: “Nicolò, don’t worry. You will score today.” And I did. Mourinho always sees everything first, it’s incredible. He is a top coach, special. One who always stimulates you.”
“Roma? It was an important moment in my life, with some beautiful chapters and others a little less so, and I will be eternally grateful to all the fans. My wish is that Roma can win a lot in the coming seasons. They were good years.”
