Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo stated that he is pleased with his team’s progress so far this preseason. The 22 year-old discussed Roma’s growth this summer following their 3-1 friendly victory over Belenenses.
Zaniolo’s string of strong summer performances continued this afternoon against the Portuguese side thanks to his second half goal.
“We did what the manager asked of us—we pressed them high, though, this tougher in the second half because it was so hot,” he said to Roma TV.
“We are training well, in good spirits and with that desire to get back out there every day. I think that’s the most important thing. We want to be ready for the first game of the season.”
“I’m feeling increasingly good about what I’m capable of. This is my 25th day working with the squad after a long time out, so I’m happy about that.”
