RomaPress – Roma were dealt a major blow in January when Nicolo Zaniolo suffered a torn ACL injury in their loss against Juve.
Their young starlet underwent surgery to repair the torn muscle on 13th January and exactly four months later — has finally started to run for the first time since the injury.
Zaniolo published a video on social media of himself training this afternoon at Roma’s training center Trigoria. The caption that he wrote underneath the video was simple but clear: “I’m back”.
The date for a return has always been July, but Zaniolo is surely ahead of schedule and has even surprised some of the Giallorossi’s staff, who were shocked by the superb physical condition the attacker was in when individual training resumed last week.
The club will continue to take a conservative approach with the youngster and will not rush him back into action. However, there is little doubt that Zaniolo will be ready to go within the next 45-60 days.
