Roma starlet Nicolo Zaniolo is getting closer to a full recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL).
Zaniolo (21) suffered the injury while on international duty with Italy in early September and underwent surgery days later. Finally, after nearly seven months of rehabilitation, the youngster took part in his first training session today.
According to Sky Sport, Zaniolo trained with the club’s Primavera squad, who are managed by Alberto De Rossi. He will train with the youth set-up for the next two weeks before returning to the senior side.
The Italian is expected to make a full return to the pitch within the next four weeks. However, Roma will assess his progress and insist they will not bring him back until he is 100% ready.
