Zaniolo’s recovery progressing, still needs one month before returning

John Solano

Roma attacker Nicolo Zaniolo requires another month before he’s able to make his full return to the pitch.

Il Tempo reports that Zaniolo’s recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament is progressing nicely, but he still requires more time. The news comes after the youngster flew to Austria yesterday for a follow-up consultation with his surgeon, Prof. Christian Fink.

His knee is healing well, but the affected leg has 10% less strength compared to other. However, Roma do not consider it a setback because they’ve always maintained that a return date is fluid.

The club has been conservative in their approach when dealing with Zaniolo’s recovery and have no intention of changing now.

Even though their initial hope was that he could return by late April, Roma will wait as long as necessary for him.
