Zaniolo’s renewal with Roma on stand-by

Andy Mattioli

Nicolo Zaniolo’s renewal with the Giallorossi is reportedly on stand-by as an agreement is yet to be reached between the player and club.

Roma have been in talks with the attacker’s entourage ever since the summer transfer window came to an end in the first week of September.

According to Leggo, Zaniolo’s request is of around €4.5 million plus add-ons, essentially making him one of the top earners at the club along with Lorenzo Pellegrini and Tammy Abraham.

Roma are currently reluctant to accept those terms given the player’s scarce performances this season. However, there is a mutual willingness to complete a deal regarding the 23-year-old renewal before the summer given the player’s current contract is set to expire in 2024.
