Former Roma player and UEFA director Zbigniew Boniek did not mince words when analyzing the managerial switch from Jose Mourinho to Daniele De Rossi.
After an event at the Capannelle Hippodrome, Boniek was quoted saying to reporters, “I believe that De Rossi arrived at the right time, because the Mourinho era had to end, the time had come to dissolve this relationship.”
“I am convinced that Daniele is intelligent, skilled, motivated and this is a beautiful story of Roma: he was a player, captain and now coach. And it was enough to change the team’s approach and the relationships with the players a little which led to better results from the get-go.”
“Now we have to see how this story ends, I personally hope he does like Ferguson and stays here for many years as Roma manager,” concluded Boniek.
