Roma defender Zeki Celik commented on his own performance following the Giallorossi’s 0-1 victory over Milan in the first leg of the Europa League quarterfinals.
The Turkish international was interviewed by Voce Giallorossa and specifically asked about the challenge of guarding Milan attacker Rafael Leao.
“I know Leao very well,” Celik said of his former Lille teammate. “He’s one of their strongest players but I defended him well.”
“We are happy, we won but we should have scored 2-3 goals. However, the 1-0 is a positive result for us and we will have to win at the Olimpico in the return leg.”
“El Shaarawy? He played really well and we got along fine on the right side,” he added.
