As Roma beat Empoli away from home in a tight, hard-fought 2-1 victory in Tuscany on Monday night, Zeki Celik proved to be once again a reliable alternative to Rick Karsdorp who was forced to forfeit the match due to persisting muscle fatigue.
The Turkish international filled the void left by Karsdorp’s absence on the right flank and provided steady defensive coverage throughout the match as well as helped push the team forward in the second half.
