Turkish fullback Zeki Çelik discussed in detail his first impressions from Roma’s preseason training camp following his move from Lille earlier in the month in a recent interview with Il Romanista.
“I’m the kind of player who likes to give everything he’s got on the pitch, and I’m here to give my all for the coach,” said the 25-year-old.
“I always want to be ready for whenever the coach will need me.”
On the ‘rivalry’ with fellow right back Rick Karsdorp, Çelik said, “He’s a player I followed a lot last year, a player who plays well, so I have a lot of respect for him. We are starting to talk and get along.”
When asked about Mourinho, he said, “From the outside he may seem like a real character. And he is. But once you get to know him you realize he treats his players really well. He knows how make himself be loved by players.”
Finally, he mentioned Lorenzo Pellegrini. “He told me that whenever I have any doubts about anything, I should just ask him and talk about it. He seems to be a really good captain.”
