Turkish full-back completed his transfer to Roma, officially becoming a Roma player earlier today following the club’s announcement. The 25-year-old was then asked to detail his decision to join the capital club and the ambition to work with Jose Mourinho and become an important member of Roma’s roster.

“Roma is a great city and a great club. I’m very happy to be here,” he told the club.

“The fact that Roma wanted me so strongly made my choice easy. I really wanted to come here. I wanted to work with Mourinho, whom we all know.”

“I know that he wanted me here, so I’m really very lucky to be here,” he added.

On his physical condition, the fullback commented, “I feel ready and focused. I have ambitious goals for next season and I want to achieve great things together with Roma.”

On Mourinho: “In reality, Mourinho and I met each other in the past already, but now I will have the opportunity to get to know him better.”

“I am very curious to find out about his training and his working style. I can’t wait to work with him. “

When asked about his ambitions, Çelik did not hesitate, “My personal goal is to always be a starter and to give my contribution to the team.”

Finally, the Turkish international said what fans can expect from him, “I will never tire and I will always fight for this club. I will give my all for this team and my teammates without ever giving up.”
