No one is safe with Daniele De Rossi except for a handful of ‘untouchables’ ahead of what is likely to be a very busy summer for Roma.
The Roma head coach is preparing a list of players that could depart the club this summer.
The main area of focus is the wingbacks and fullbacks as De Rossi is set to rely on a 4-3-3 system that will require fast, technical players.
As of right now, few players in Roma’s roster seem to satisfy these conditions.
A major overhaul is needed to meet De Rossi’s demands.
With Leonardo Spinazzola, Rasmus Kristensen and Rick Karsdorp set to leave, Zeki Celik is also likely to be on his way out.
According to ReteSport the Turkish fullback failed to convince De Rossi.
Celik only started 5 Serie A games following De Rossi’s appointment in January.
Roma could thus evaluate offers for him this summer.
In his place, the club are monitoring various options on the transfer market.
