Zeman critical of Roma

Former Roma manager Zdenek Zeman was asked about the Giallorossi and their struggles this season by RMC Sport. These are his words:

“Sousa saying he’d like to join Roma? Everybody wants to come to Roma, the problem is staying there. It’s an important place, even when things aren’t going as planned, but the problem for any manager is being able to remain on the bench for a long time. Roma’s problem is that they sell important pieces every summer. When you do that, you have to find replacements and give them time to settle. It’s not a question about their quality, but settling into Italian football. Pastore is good, but it’s difficult to find space for him in a 4-3-3. If you put him on the right or left of the midfield three, it’s difficult for him to defend. Meanwhile, Schick isn’t a winger – he has to play as a centre forward, however, Dzeko is already there”.
