Zidane wants to keep Borja Mayoral at Real Madrid for this season

What looked like a done deal earlier today has turned into a major question mark.

Real Madrid striker Borja Mayoral has already accepted a move to join Roma, but Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane appears to have made a u-turn regarding the player’s future.

Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre of El Chiringuito TV has reported that the French manager has decided to keep the 23 year-old at the Bernabeu for the upcoming season.

After a deal for Napoli’s Arek Milik fell through last week, Roma immediately turned their attention to Mayoral and quickly reached an agreement with the striker and his agent.

The Giallorossi had yet to reach an agreement with Real Madrid but there was optimism that a deal would be found within the coming hours.

With Zidane’s decision, however, the deal has suddenly now come entirely into question.
