Former Milan player and director Zvonimir Boban – currently working as UEFA’s Chief of Football – advised Jose Mourinho on implementing a change in formation in order to compete for the league’s top objective: the Scudetto. The Croatian director insisted on Mourinho adopting a 4-3-3.
“I think Roma did a wonderful job with Dybala, on par with Inter signing Lukaku,” Boban told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“In my opinion Mourinho should start playing with a 4-3-3 formation: that way he would have more balance and stability in the midfield and he would be able to control the game more easily,” he added.
On Roma’s Conference League success, Boban commented, “UEFAis proud and even a little surprised by how well received the Conference League has been.”
“A great success made possible also because of Roma and Mourinho. The way they respected the competition was admirable. The amount of passion they played with in order to make history was extraordinary.”
