Roma winger Cengiz Ünder will return to the Italian capital this summer following his loan spell at Leicester City.

The Turkish international joined the Foxes last summer on loan with an option to buy, however, the club opted not to make deal permanent due to the attacker’s disappointing campaign.

His stay in the Eternal City could be brief, though, given that the Giallorossi are expected to try and sell Ünder this summer to help improve their balance sheet.

Meanwhile, the 23 year-old is drawing attention today after being asked about his club future and his thoughts on new Roma boss José Mourinho.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with my club future, my focus is on the Euro,” he said to various media members. “I’m not worried about the transfer market.”

“Mourinho? One of my biggest dreams since I was a child was to work with him. If you ask any Turkish player, everyone would say that they’d like to play for him, this is what I’ve wanted, too.”

“But right now, my focus is only on the Euro. I feel good and I’ve done well in training and our friendlies. We’ll discuss everything else after the competition.”

Ünder’s statements regarding ‘The Special One’ seem to hint at the possibility of remaining with the club in order to work with the former Red Devils manager, who will ultimately have the final say.
