Ahead of tonight’s league clash versus Roma, Cremonese displayed a fantastic bit of sportsmanship via their official social media accounts.

The Lombardy-based side sent a supportive message to recently injured Roma midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, who suffered a fractured tibia during yesterday’s training session.

“In a match like today’s which will be unforgettable because of the atmosphere and emotions, we’re sorry that one of the protagonists will be missing,” they wrote.

“Good luck Georginio, we hope to see you on the pitch again soon!”

The injury will likely keep Wijnaldum out for at least the next 3-4 months, meaning he’ll be unavailable at least until the new year for Roma.

Though, the former Liverpool man will undergo additional assessments before it’s decided whether or not surgery will be required.
