Nahitan Nandez is in pole position to become Roma’s first signing of the summer.

The Cagliari midfielder is nearing the end of his contract and is thus a step away from becoming a free agent.

Over recent days, Roma advanced considerably in negotiations with his entourage, offering Nandez a three-year deal.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nandez is personally pushing to make this move happen, wanting to join the Giallorossi prior to the Copa America tournament with Uruguay.

The midfielder would like to play the tournament with a free mind, not having to think about the transfer market any longer than required.

Trailing behind are two Saudi clubs who have also made inquiries with Nandez’s agent.
