The player suffered a strain in his right thigh, which will mean he will be unable to answer coach Carlo Ancelotti’s call-up.
The Brazilian Football Federation subsequently announced that the Roma player will be replaced by Monaco defender Vanderson.
Wesley will remain in the capital to undergo tests and begin his recovery. Roma will monitor the 2003-born player’s condition ahead of Gian Piero Gasperini’s team’s upcoming matches.
